Massage involves the application of pressure to the skin and muscles using the hands, fingers, forearms, and sometimes elbows, knees and even legs. It is usually performed either clothed or partially clothed on a massage table, or on a massage chair if the focus is on treating the back. Used to relieve pain and reduce stress, the experience can often be deeply relaxing and therapeutic. It comes in many forms such as Shiatsu, Traditional Chinese, Thai, Tui Na, Swedish, Structural Integration (e.g. Rolfing), Reflexology (foot massage), Lymphatic Drainage, Sports, Medical, Lomilomi (Hawaiian), Biodynamic and Acupressure.
