SELF-COMPASSION: LEARNING TO LOVE YOURSELF
Kathryn Buxton
Often we find it easy to be kind and compassionate to others, especially when they are facing difficulties in life. However when we face difficulties, our critical voice often speaks to us harshly and we find it difficult to be self-compassionate.
Self-compassion simply involves doing a ‘U’ turn and giving yourself the same compassion you’d naturally show a friend when you’re struggling or feeling bad about yourself.
It means being supportive towards yourself when you make a mistake. It means instead of speaking harshly to yourself, you stop and tell yourself ‘this is really difficult right now – how can I care and comfort myself.’
Each session will include 1hr tutor-led time followed by 30 minutes for tea, coffee and chat. This is a Quality Mark course from our awarding body AIM Qualifications. Certificates are awarded to those who attend 3 or more sessions
There is a tiered payment option for this course of £5 / £10 / £20 which covers the whole course cost.
Advanced registration is essential. To register your place please call 01242 254321 or email cwp@isbourne.org.

As a wellbeing and educational charity, The Isbourne aims to make its courses and workshops accessible to all regardless of income. We have researched how other organisations fund their courses and come up with a three tier pricing system:
Supported rate: this fee is less than the Standard and allows anyone with financial challenges to still participate. You do not have to show proof, this is offered on trust. This price is limited to one per transaction.Standard rate: this is how much we would like all participants to pay as it covers The Isbourne costs and supports the tutor.
Sponsor rate: this is a little more than the Standard fee and allows you to subsidise and support others who might not be able to pay the Standard fee.
You choose what tier of payment best suits you - no questions asked!
