Reiki Level 1 Training

If you’ve been curious about Reiki and want to learn it in a way that feels calm, clear, and real, this is a good place to start.

You don’t need to be particularly intuitive or “spiritual” to learn this — I’ll guide you through it step by step.

This one-day training gives you a grounded, practical introduction to Reiki — how it works, what you’re doing, and how to use it in everyday life.

No prior experience needed.

Janie keeps things simple and well-explained, so you’re not left second-guessing yourself. By the end of the day, you’ll know what you’re doing and feel confident using Reiki for yourself and others.

On the day, you’ll:

  • Learn Reiki in a clear, easy-to-follow way
  • Receive your Level 1 attunement
  • Practise giving and receiving Reiki (with guidance)
  • Understand what you’re feeling and how to trust it
  • Build real confidence, not just knowledge


You’ll understand what you’re doing and why — not just follow a process.

This is a small group, so there’s time to ask questions and settle into it properly.

You’ll leave with something you can use — and a deeper sense of connection to yourself.

Most people are surprised by how natural and steady Reiki actually feels when it’s taught this way, and delighted to experience the energy for the first time.

Led by Janie Whittemore, a Registered Reiki Master Teacher and Certified Havening Techniques Practitioner with over 25 years’ experience. Janie offers a calm, grounded and genuinely supportive way to learn, with a strong focus on the nervous system and emotional wellbeing.

Janie has been treating people with Reiki since 1996, and has been a Reiki Master Teacher since 2005. From November 2016 she has focused on her own business; teaching and treating clients with bespoke healing packages and intuitive sessions.

The beauty of this system is that the personal contact and sharing of wisdom are the first steps you take on your own personal journey.  It is important that the prospective student is willing to ask questions of the teacher and feels comfortable with him or her.

Sometimes it is helpful to have a treatment from the teacher beforehand, so you have a chance to see if this person feels like the right person to teach you, if you have a good and trusting connection.

IN-HOUSE: CHELTENHAM REIKI SHARE run by Janie here at the Isbourne, are available for further practice, discussion and experience to give you the confidence to work with the public.

For this session, you may want to bring your own:

  • Pen and paper
  • A shawl or wrap
  • A small crystal
  • A water bottle with a lid
