Roger Scriven

Offering Psychodynamic Counselling

Roger offers open-ended and time-limited psychodynamic counselling to adult individual clients. He has many years’ experience as a qualified psychodynamic therapist, counselling adult clients and couples in open-ended, time-limited and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) therapy. As a psychodynamic therapist, he does not direct the work but seeks to walk alongside the client on their journey.

Roger offers a safe, non-judgemental space in which to explore thoughts and feelings. This includes looking at what may have brought events to this current point in time, what is going on in the here and now and how the past may have shaped the present.

Sessions are normally weekly and last 50 minutes. You may bring any topic to a session, where it can be thought-about together, exploring: the impact it may be having; the feelings experienced; alongside associations with the present and the past. Together you will begin to unravel complex feelings and behaviours, gaining insight and understanding, encouraging development and growth.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Roger abides by their Code of Ethics and regularly attend Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events on a variety of topics relevant to current and future client work.

He has achieved a diploma in psychodynamic counselling with one of the leading training organisations in the county. This was followed by further training, including Couple Work and Brief Therapy Work.
