TAI CHI MOVEMENTS FOR WELLBEING

John Thorne

Learn how to practice a specially developed sequence of gentle movements combining the essential elements of tai chi, qi gong and mindfulness, which promotes physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, as well as improving your self-confidence, flexibility and balance. The sequence of movements is highly adaptable to individual requirements, is suitable for all ages, and can be done sitting or standing.

John is a holistic practitioner and founder of the ‘Lifestyle Choices’ Personal Development Programme, focusing on profound relaxation as a mechanism for change. The foundations of the programme are Movement, Stillness, and Touch. John is qualified by the Esalen Institute of California and ITEC to offer holistic massage, and is qualified to teach Tai Chi Movements for Wellbeing (TMW).

TMW is an easy to learn movement practice which is highly adaptable to individual requirements. Suitable for all ages and abilities, and may be practiced either seated or standing. TMW was developed jointly by a tai chi Master and a clinical psychologist and therefore draws on the traditions of tai chi and qigong to offer support for a healthy 21st century lifestyle.

TMW is offered at The Isbourne as a 5-week programme, during which time the complete sequence of 16 movements is taught. Ongoing learning support is offered by the official TMW DVD (at the additional cost of £10), and by attendance on further trainings at a preferential rate. In addition, the practice can be enhanced by joining a TMW Deepening class which John may offer from time to time.
