IN-HOUSE: THE YOGA OF VOCAL SOUND

James D'Angelo

Our essential nature is vibration as expressed in the harmonious sounds of the human voice. The object is to dissolve all the stresses that impede those vibrations and re-tune the chakras..

James will offer vocal toning practices that focus on the tuning of the chakras that comprise many of our psychological attributes – rootedness, creative flow, authority, compassion and communication among others. There is a simplicity to these practices, using only vowels, consonants and seed syllables, which enable the participants to easily and effectively draw the chakras towards an optimum rate of whirling. He complements some of the vocal sounds with simple Tai Chi-like movements that encourage and direct the sounds. This work is in two phases: First, the active stage where the participants produce these mantra-like tones and stimulate the energy centres. Second, the meditative stage where they tune into their experience.

James also includes natural sound rituals and Taoist healing sounds/movements. This course empowers the participants to take the techniques offered and practice them on a daily basis. The course is complete in itself and is not one of the levels. No experience is necessary.

James D’Angelo, PhD is a very well-established figure in the field of sound healing. His courses have evolved over a period of twenty-five years and he has given them not only in the UK but also in mainland Europe and the USA. He is the author of The Healing Power of the Human Voice and Seed Sounds for Tuning the Chakras published by Inner Traditions, USA. www.soundspirit.co.uk

The Isbourne is asking all those attending in-house classes and events to please bring their own yoga mats, blankets, cushions and refreshments if required for what they are attending. We are unable to supply any of the listed items for the foreseeable future.

Due to social distancing guidelines, drop-in's can not be accommodated so please book in advance.

Please note: The Isbourne operates a minimum number policy. This means that if our minimum number is not met 24 hours before the session is scheduled to run, then we reserve the right to cancel the session. If you have paid a set fee for the cancelled session, you will get a full refund. Donations are non-refundable. We, therefore, advise customers to secure their place as soon as possible to avoid any disappointment. The Isbourne’s minimum number policy is under the guidance of the tutor running the session. Thank you for your understanding.

As a wellbeing and educational charity, The Isbourne aims to make its courses and workshops accessible to all regardless of income. We have researched how other organisations fund their courses and come up with a three tier pricing system:

Supported rate: this fee is less than the Standard and allows anyone with financial challenges to still participate. You do not have to show proof, this is offered on trust.

Standard rate: this is how much we would like all participants to pay as it covers The Isbourne costs and supports the tutor.
Sponsor rate: this is a little more than the Standard fee and allows you to subsidise and support others who might not be able to pay the Standard fee.

You choose what tier of payment best suits you - no questions asked!
