IN-HOUSE: MINDFUL MOVEMENT FOR COGNITIVE HEALTH
John Thorne
This four-week course aims to support those living with Dementia, Parkinson’s, M.S., Stroke, Neuropathy, Dyspraxia, or any long term neurological health condition.
Using the gentle, mindful movement practice of TMW (Tai Chi Movements for Wellbeing) and the ‘5 Pillars of Health’ approach, the course offers an opportunity to explore a fresh perspective on your sense of contentment and 'Living Well' with a long term health condition. The TMW sequence provides the backbone of the course, with benefits extending to our mental, physical, emotional health and overall sense of wellbeing and connection with ourselves.
We invite you to join us for this group course in the compassionate, supportive environment of The Isbourne. Movements can be done seated or standing and are suitable for most people. Each 1.5hr session includes refreshments and opportunities to chat with your peers and the tutor. Loved ones or carers of those living with the health condition are also welcome to attend and participate.
This is a Quality Endorsed course from our awarding body AIM qualifications. It is a kite mark of quality and at the end of the course if you have completed 3 or more sessions you will receive a certificate.
Please note these sessions are part of our community wellbeing series that aims to help you cope with your mental health and are offered at a subsidised cost. A member of our Outreach team will be in touch following registration to fill out a referral form.
