Designed for anyone who is curious to try different types of meditational practices. The content is suitable for those with a busy mind and those that suffer with their mental health in some way. Primarily this is an experiential course to explore different types of meditational practice. We use the breath, learn to shift our awareness, and use different gaze points, hand gestures, mantra and mindful movement as well as yoga nidra (conscious sleep), and group discussion, which enables us to learn from each other’s experiences. Along the way we will explore a little about the interconnected systems in the body and mind; how behaviours and the environment can affect us and establish habitual pathways in the brain and the nervous system. You’ll learn that the brain has extraordinary plasticity and that our neurological pathways are not fixed: through the use of various meditational practices we can stimulate our internal networks to restore equilibrium within the body-mind.

Participants will leave with a deeper connection to and awareness of themselves and the feelings that arise within their body and mind, and will be able to call upon their new tools to support their own wellbeing.
