They say that each of us has a book inside us, which means we each have a story to tell that is unique.  But our own stories can be woven with imagined stories to create something that goes beyond our lived life, and this can be in a range of forms – short story, novel, poem (in various forms), radio play, theatre play, screenplay… This introductory course aims to give you the space to write creatively and try out different ways of writing that you may not have thought of trying before.

In small groups, in a safe and supportive atmosphere, you will be able to explore your creativity and see where your ideas take you!

Although some feedback will form part of each session, the course is not designed for writers who are looking for detailed feedback on their work.  The course aims to provide people with little or no writing experience an opportunity, above all, to WRITE – budding writers who would like an opportunity to see if writing creatively is something they want to build into their daily lives, as a hobby or as a basis for a more regular writing practice.  It could also appeal to writers who have only written prose or poetry so far and who would like to try other genres, or to ‘stalled’ writers who need some inspiration and a regular writing time to get the ink flowing again.
