Anxious about something that might not even happen?
Our mind chatter focuses on worrying about the future or fretting about the past, causing us to become anxious about things that haven’t happened and generating unreliable memories of what did happen. Only in the present moment can we find real peace and this is the gift of mindfulness. This course explores the role of mind chatter, why it happens and how you can change your response to it through mindfulness and meditation.
Each session of this Quality Endorsed course will start with an exploration of some aspect of mind chatter and end with mindfulness meditations based on the theme of the session. This course is perfect for those who are beginners to meditation, as well as those with some experience.
You will learn:
- why our caveman brain has evolved to protect us
- the importance of gratitude
- the role of self-compassion
- why forgiveness is key
- a range of different mindful meditations to support you in your ongoing journey
Course tutor Kathryn Buxton has been meditating for over 20 years and trained with the British School of Meditation. She runs regular classes, day and weekend retreats and also works with local companies to support their staff wellbeing.
