Contemplative PhotographyNikki Simpson
When our mind is steady, our vision clear and our heart soft, we can begin to capture the world around us in a more vivid and precise way. Taking a successful photograph requires a combination of technical skill and a 'good eye'. This four week course culminating with an optional day in nature will look at developing a 'good eye' through a meditative approach. Combining technical skills with techniques for becoming more present this course will set you on your way to more successful image taking. Course suitable for beginners/improvers in digital photography - bring your own camera, the course will involve outdoor work, weather permitting! Nikki has been working as a visual artist and photographer for the past five years. Her work is mainly focused around the land and how we as humans are shaped and informed by the landscape we inhabit. Alongside Nikki's photographic practice she runs digital photography workshops within schools, further education and community settings. Bringing a contemplative and meditative approach to her work, Nikki aims to infuse her teaching with the same ethos. £60 for a stand alone weekend (click add to basket) or £40 as part of the four part course (book through the office, 01242 254321) |
