One-Minute Mystic

Tuesday 6th April - 7.00pm-9.00pm

The onetime Anglican priest turned One-Minute Mystic invites you into the ultimate adventure: 'a leap off the cliff of something, into the void of nothing - from which you return invigorated and renewed. '

'Before something, nothing,' as the sages say, and it can be the same for us, Simon promises, as we reassess our cluttered and clinging lives. An experience of spacious emptiness creates in us a pure and clean climate of possibility.  Like a first parachute jump, what can appear frightening at first, becomes an experience we wouldn't exchange.  And with Simon, we are in safe hands as we leap.

simon_parkeWhen the water in the pond becomes still, we see more deeply and clearly into its reality; and maybe find diamonds at the bottom.  It is such seeing that Simon offers; seeing that leads to understanding. In such a climate, anger, sorrow and confusion are exchanged for peace, happiness and the possibility that we might offer joy to the world. And it starts with a leap.

Simon Parke was a priest in the Church of England for twenty years before giving it up to stack supermarket shelves for three years (as recorded in his popular diary Shelf Life). He is now a writer and retreat leader, with his weekly One-Minute Mystic column in the Daily Mail recently published by Hay House.  As Radio Five Live's Simon Mayo said, 'A very wise man has written a very wise book.'  Simon has also written satire for TV and radio, winning a Sony radio award.

Cost: £12/ Early Bird (2 weeks in advance) £9
